Just In Case
“If we win the lottery we’ll go on the road full time.” We’d scale down, take everything we *want* (not just need), and have “it all” by having the RV(s), Dogs, Jeep(s), motorcycles, and driver(s) / dog-sitter(s) with us full time as well. We’d have the freedom of mobility and to enjoy life much more fully: visit people, places, DO things. We’d also have a backup sticks & bricks home on a small piece of property to visit when we wanted and store stuff we don’t take on the road.
All-in-all, a pipe dream.
RVing full-time is also our (well, at least my) favorite — a.k.a. go-to, fall-back, daydream, what-have-you — reaction to too much stress. Just shuck everything we don’t *need* and go on the road. In this version we don’t “have it all” but we can still have the freedom of mobility and to enjoy life much more fully: visit people, places, DO things.
This option is more realistic, but still rather far-fetched given our current lifestyle. Yet, if we planned just right and if nebulous things fell into place just so and the universe cooperated …
Being a near-compulsive gatherer/documentor (in contrast to hunter/gatherers of old) I’m compiling information to help flesh out the dream. Just in case.
Just in case we win the lottery (oh, wait, we have to have a ticket for that, eh? darn).
Just in case we can arrange things to pay off what we need to keep, sell what we decide we don’t need, and then buy any extra things we do need.
Just in case we decide to FTW and leave what can’t pay off and let the creditors fight it out in bankruptcy court and start over. Fresh. Kind of. Not really. But this case would be a last resort scenario, of course.
So, we are now adding a new section on this site dedicated to information gathered specific to living and travelling full-time in an RV.
Just in case.
